Do I have to live on campus to attend?
Nope! You are not required to live on campus to attend the Emerge Summer Leadership Institute. However, it is your responsibility to arrive for each session on-time.
For those interested in living on campus, we have FREE housing in an on-campus residence hall. In the application, you will designate your living arrangements for the duration of the Institute.
How long is the Institute?
The Emerge Summer Leadership Institute is a one-week, intensive program. The Emerge Institute offers two separate one-week sessions. Participants may only attend one of the two sessions. The first session will take place from July 20 to July 25, and the second session will be held from July 27 to August 1. Please choose the session that best fits your schedule, as space is limited and participants can only enroll in one session.
Are meals provided?
Breakfast, lunch, and dinner will be provided to all participants, regardless of if they are staying on-campus or commuting.
Is Emerge only for incoming PES students?
Yes! Emerge is only for incoming students in the President's Emerging Scholars Program who are beginning their journey at the University.
How many students will be in the Institute?
The Emerge Summer Leadership Institute has a capacity for 150 students for each one-week session
What does the average day look like in Emerge?
You can expect to engage in various workshops, team-building exercises, and seminars to achieve the Institute’s objectives. You can see a sample schedule for the Institute here.
Is there a cost to attend the Institute?
No, there is no cost to attend the Emerge Summer Leadership Institute for eligible PES students.
