Program Eligibility
To participate in Emerge, students must be:
- an admitted incoming first-year PES student
- available all day, every day for one of the following sessions
- Session 1: July 26, 2026 to July 31, 2026
- Session 2: August 2, 2026 to August 7, 2026
- have completed Freshman Orientation before the start of your session
- highly motivated to commit to the program’s expectations

- Complimentary Meals Throughout the Program: Enjoy FREE on-campus meals throughout the Institute! All participants, whether living on campus or commuting, can access various nutritious dining options to keep you energized and focused during workshops, activities, and social events. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner will be provided to participants for the duration of the program.
- Optional: On-Campus Housing for the Duration of the Institute: Take advantage of our on-campus housing for up to 80 participants at no charge. Experience life in an on-campus residence hall, enhancing your connection to campus and your peers. If you live locally, that's perfectly fine! Students who choose to commute will still enjoy free meals and be able to engage in the program fully. We also recommend choosing the option that aligns with your plans for the upcoming academic year. If you anticipate living on campus, this is a great opportunity to experience residence hall life. If you plan to commute, selecting the commuter option allows you to practice your route and understand what your daily travel will look like.

Program Expectations
The 2025 Emerge Summer Leadership Institute will be held in-person on campus, and your full engagement is essential to the success of the program. As an Emerge participant, you are expected to:
- Be Present Every Day: You must attend all sessions for the full duration of the program. Consistent attendance is crucial for your growth and the success of the group. Please be punctual and committed to participating fully.
- Build a Strong Community: Emerge is about fostering connections with fellow participants. You are expected to actively contribute to creating a supportive, inclusive environment through collaboration, respect, and peer support.
- Actively Participate in Workshops and Activities: You will be engaged in various workshops, team-building exercises, and seminars. Active participation in these is vital for developing leadership skills and gaining the most from the experience. Be present, ask questions, and engage with the material and your peers.
- Be Responsible and Respectful: Take ownership of your time and actions, and approach the program with a respectful, accountable attitude. Manage your time effectively, engage thoughtfully with others, and fulfill your commitments to the group.
- Commit to Your Growth: Embrace the opportunity to reflect on your progress and receive constructive feedback. Approach each challenge with an open mind, and commit to continuous learning and self-improvement throughout the program.
